She began her training at the age of six, performing in local community theatre and performed in her first professional production at the age of ten. There, she portrayed the role of Bobbi/Gabby in her term’s final musical production, City of Angels (2019). Her distinction at RCPA resulted in the institution’s faculty nominating her for the prestigious "Triple Threat" performer award.
Mari then moved to Glasgow to attend the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, ranked top 3 in the world for performing arts education by the QS World Rankings (2021). There, she received a Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre Performance. Mari performed as the title character of Pippin in her graduating production of Pippin in August of 2021.
She is trained in musical theatre performance, classical acting, film and television, voice over, improvisation, devised theatre, and dance (ballet, jazz, tap, fosse, contemporary, commercial). Recently, Mari has branched into writing and directing, performing in her own self-written and directed cabaret entitled Mari on the Moon. She also co-wrote and devised the show X: 1969, an all-female creation, telling the story of 6 women in the Manson Family cult. Mari loves developing new works of theatre and has lots of experience working on new Canadian plays and musicals as both a creator and performer.
Mari is incredibly passionate about authentic connection through storytelling, and she values honest depictions of humanity through art. It is important to Mari to be a part of projects that value mutual respect, diversity, and community.
Mari is Non-Union and is currently looking for representation.
